Seniors’ Captain Charity Day

SENIORS’ CAPTAIN CHARITY DAY

Seniors’ Captain’s Charity Golf Day 2020

I’m pleased to report that on September 10th we held a very successful Charity golf day. On a glorious sunny day 84 golfers enjoyed a great day of golf and along the way raised over £3000 for Brain Tumour Research.

The winning ‘Gary Player’ team each won a bottle of red wine, whilst the most valuable player in each of the teams (Terry Field, Rob Hill, Hans Menzel & Peter Nicholls) won a bottle of prosecco.

The highest scoring lady was Caroline Willingham who also won a bottle of prosecco.

The winners of the nearest the pin competitions and winning a sleeve of balls were:

Hole 4 –  Ken Appleby
Hole 11 – Hans Menzel
Nearest hole 6 in 2 – Sharon Avann

And finally the longest putt competition was won, with a putt of 75’ (!) by Dave Drew who also won a sleeve of golf balls.

So many people contributed to the success of the day, but my particular thanks, and a bottle of prosecco, go to Dave Drew who did much of the organizing. I’d also like to say a very big thank you to everyone who participated and contributed prizes for the silent auction.
